Nghiên cứu được thực hiện nhằm đánh giá ảnh hưởng của liều lượng phế phẩm gạch gốm nghiền đến sinh trưởng và sự ra hoa của cây bâng khuâng (Angelonia angustifolia Benth.). Thí nghiệm một yếu tố được bố trí theo kiểu hoàn toàn ngẫu nhiên (CRD) gồm 5 nghiệm thức (G1: 40% xơ dừa + 40% tro trấu + 20% phân trùn (ĐC); G2: 80% ĐC + 20% gạch gốm nghiền; G3: 60% ĐC + 40% gạch gốm nghiền; G4: 40% ĐC + 60% gạch gốm nghiền; và G5: 20% ĐC + 80% gạch gốm nghiền) và 3 lần lặp lại, mỗi lần lặp lại 10 chậu, mỗi chậu 1 cây. Tổng số cây có trong thí nghiệm là 150 cây. Kết quả cho thấy độ thoáng khí có xu hướng tăng khi tăng liều lượng phối trộn phế phẩm gạch gốm nghiền trong giá thể, ngược lại khả năng giữ nước của hỗn hợp giá thể thì giảm, cụ thể khi thêm 80% đất sét nung vào hỗn hợp giá thể đối chứng thì độ thoáng khí tăng từ 11,8 lên 23,6% và khả năng giữ nước giảm từ 50,74 xuống 18,65%. Kết quả theo dõi quá trình sinh trưởng và sự ra hoa của cây bâng khuâng cho thấy giá thể có 40% phế phẩm gạch gốm nghiền + 60% hỗn hợp giá thể (xơ dừa + tro trấu + phân trùn theo tỉ lệ 2:2:1) thì cây đạt các chỉ tiêu cao nhất về chiều cao cây (36,9 cm), số cành cấp 1 (15,1 cành/cây), chiều dài cành hoa (25,5 cm), sinh khối hoa tươi (15 g), sinh khối hoa khô (8,3 g), thời gian ra nụ (18,6 ngày) và độ bền hoa (14,3 ngày).
