Nghiên cứu xem xét các yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến chất lượng mối quan hệ giữa nông dân và thương lái thu mua cà phê. Nghiên cứu này sử dụng dữ liệu thu thập từ 201 nông dân trồng cà phê. Kết quả cho thấy có năm yếu tố ảnh hưởng đến chất lượng mối quan hệ, bao gồm sự hợp tác, giá cả cảm nhận, chia sẻ lợi nhuận/rủi ro, sự bất cân xứng về quyền lực và giao tiếp hiệu quả. Chia sẻ lợi nhuận/rủi ro là yếu tố quan trọng nhất ảnh hưởng tích cực đến chất lượng mối quan hệ giữa nông dân và thương lái thu mua cà phê trong khi bất cân xứng quyền lực ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến chất lượng mối quan hệ này. Kết quả nghiên cứu cũng cho thấy chất lượng mối quan hệ tác động tích cực đến lợi nhuận của nông dân và ý định duy trì mối quan hệ giữa nông dân và thương lái thu mua. Các nhà hoạch định chính sách nên tập trung vào việc tăng cường tính minh bạch và chia sẻ thông tin giữa nông dân và thương lái thu mua để cải thiện chất lượng mối quan hệ.
